The socket screws category contains several different types of fasteners with one thing in common: an internal hex (allen) drive.

Socket head cap screws are used in fastening or clamping components together, die castings, and machine assemblies, among other uses.

Socket flat head cap screws are used in applications where countersinking is desired. Used when a flush finish is required for either safety or appearance requirements.

Socket button head cap screws are used when appearance is a factor, and clamping material is too thin to countersink the screw. Examples are end panels, display shelving, and carts.

Socket shoulder screws are used in many tool and die applications as well as stationary guides, pulley shafts, moving shafts, or pivots.

Socket low head cap screws are used in applications where not enough clearance is available for a standard socket head cap screw.

Set screws are used to fasten shaft collars, gears, and knobs on shafts or where frequent adjustments are involved.

Socket screws are available in a variety of materials, such as high-strength alloy steel, and different stainless steel alloys, and others.
