Ask ASMC Weekly Mailbag: Week of June 8th

Posted by Michael on 9th Jun 2020

Paola asks: If I sent you a print or a description, can you get a quote to have some parts made overseas?  I'm working on a prototype for an item and it calls for a few million pieces.

Thanks for your question Paola.  Yes, through our vast network, we are able to get quotes for large quantities of items we either carry on the website, or we can also get you a custom quote for an item made overseas if you need.  All we ask if that you forward a description or drawing for exactly what you are looking for along with quantities.  Any questions, please feel free to get in touch with your ASMC sales representative.

Rich asks: I live close to your warehouse.  Can I place an order for will-call pickup and stop by and get my order?  Or are you only shipping orders due to COVID-19 concerns?

Hi Rich.  First, before coming to pick up an order, please make sure first that the availability line of the product you are ordering says, "ships within 1 business day."  That lets you know that the item physically is available in the quantities you need at the ASMC warehouse.  If it does not say that, then the parts will need to be ordered in which can take 2-3 business days. If you do want to pick the order up, please choose the "will call" option at checkout.  Masks are required.  Once you arrive at the ASMC warehouse, please give our sales team a call and someone will bring your order out to you.

Mike asks: I wanted to place an order for a large quantity of items and I wanted to pay with a credit card.  However, on your paperwork on the quote I just received, it says quotes over $1000 need to be paid via wire transfer.  Which one is it?

Thanks for your inquiry Mike.  If you ask and receive a formal quote from ASMC for fasteners,  it is true that for orders over $1000 we ask that you make payment by wire transfer via your bank.  We can take credit cards, however, please note that they are subject to a 3.5% processing fee.  So if you want to not have to pay for that, then wire transfer is the way to go.
