Ask ASMC Weekly Mailbag: Week Of December 7th`

Posted by Michael on 7th Dec 2020

In today's blog post, we are going to address one of the biggest questions we get here at ASMC Industrial during the holiday season.  That question is, "I haven't received my order yet, what is going on?"

In 90% of the cases, the orders that are the most affected are orders placed on the ASMC Industrial website via our free standard shipping option.  Please note, our normal standard shipping time outside of the holiday season, is anywhere from 2-10 business days from the date the order ships.  When placing orders on www.asmc.net, please first look at the availability line on the product page.  It is there where you can find if the item is available/in-stock and also in how many business days you can expect the order to ship.

If you see an example like below:

this means the order will ship from one of our warehouses within 2-3 business days.  That does NOT mean that you will receive it within that timeframe, it means this is the timeframe in which you can expect it to SHIP from ASMC.

In some instances, we are able to ship earlier than the 2-3 business days depending on the number of pieces you are looking for, and if you have a UPS account number or pay expedited freight in the checkout process.   If you have a specific question that your not sure about, please contact our friendly sales representatives (888-660-0334) or (sales@asmc.net), and one of them will be glad to assist you.

Now, going back to our original question about shipping delays,  as I'm sure you have seen in the news, all of the carriers are operating beyond capacity and experiencing widespread delays.  It is our experience that USPS is getting the worst of this.  This is resulting in some packages taking weeks instead of days to be delivered. The good news is the vast majority of these packages do get delivered, eventually.

You may be asking yourself, "why don't you ship every order UPS under the 'free standard shipping' option this way I get my order on time?"  It is our internal system that determines the best way to ship every order.  The only way we can guarantee orders shipping UPS is either if a UPS account is supplied to bill the freight or expedited freight is paid for at checkout.

If your order arrives too late for your needs, you can return it at no cost to you, for a full refund. If the order does not get delivered, we will of course issue a full refund.

We ask for a little more patience in this situation that is beyond anyone's control. I am including a screenshot of the tracking from the USPS website, which shows that the package is still in transit.
