Ask ASMC: Website Price differs from Cart Price

Posted by Michael on 31st Oct 2018

At ASMC, our goal is to offer you, the customer, the best price we can for all of your fastener needs.

One of the most common questions we get is when customers are purchasing a certain quantity of an item on the website and when they go to checkout, the price is different than what they believed they were going to pay.

Is it a glitch in our system? The answer is actually quantity based pricing. The more you buy, the lower the cost per piece.

As an example, say you are looking to purchase 100 pieces of:#0-80 X 1" (FT) Fine Thread Socket Button Head Cap Screw Alloy Steel Black Oxide. When looking at the item on the website, it says that you can pay as low as $0.2793/each yet, when you checkout, you see that you are actually paying $0.4505 each.

On the item page, please take a second to look at box underneath "Quantity Discounts," (where applicable). It is there that you can see what quantities you would need to order for you to get the price break. For the #0-80 X 1" (FT) Fine Thread Socket Button Head Cap Screw Alloy Steel Black Oxide it is as follows:

So if you ordered 100 pieces, you'd be paying $0.4505 each. To get to the price break of $0.2793 each, you would need to order 1000 pieces.

Now for some customers, they may not need 1000 pieces. That is why we also have a quantity discount at 500 pieces where you would only be paying $0.3504 each.

All prices will be reflected at checkout.

Should you have any questions regarding any of this, please feel free to reach out to our dedicated sales staff via phone or email and we will be more than happy to answer any of your questions.
