ASMC News Future website changes

Hello, I've recently installed a new inventory management system. What this means for me: I no longer have to manually update 4,000 lines worth of excel spreadsheets to know what I have on hand. Its a good thing, too, because this had turned into a monumental task in recent months with all the new fasteners. What this means for you: The fastener pages on the website won't be updated for a while. Since I was updating the spreadsheets before anyway, it was a trivial matter to publish them to the site. Now, all items are in a database, and until I can find the time to figure out how to write the necessary reports to publish the inventory on the site in a meaningful manner, I'm going to leave the pages the way they are. I could simply dump the data out of there and put it online, but it would wind up as one huge list with everything in it. Too hard to use. So, if you are going to be using the excel sheets that are online to order, keep in mind that the data is stale and there is a chance items may be sold out, especially if the quantity in stock shown there is already low. Items that show lots of stock should be available for a long time to come. One other thing: I have added a "Pack Qty" column to all the sheets. These pack quantities is how the inventory software keeps track of this stuff (i.e. it knows how many packs it has, not necessarily how many actual items), so I need to restrict ordering to multiples of the pack quantity. The pack quantities are generally very small, as they are designed for retail consumption on eBay, etc., so there should be no worries about needing to buy a case of something when you only need a few. ASMC News Inventory Complete... for now

Dear Customer, Inventory of the Wurth Service Supply buyout is complete. Please see the ASMC home page (Fasteners button) for the latest inventory sheets. There are some odds and ends left that I will add in the coming months, but they consist of less than 5% of the total product. Remaining items include snap rings, o-rings, small size brass pipe fittings, alloy pipe plugs, grease fittings, woodruff keys, hex keys, machine screws, HeliCoils and HeliCoil kits, EZ-lock thread inserts, loom clamps, and anchor shackles. ASMC News Grade 2, Stainless+Exotic Released

Dear Customer: Grade 2 is released for sale. Stainless and exotic (aluminum, brass, copper, sil bronze, titanium, monel) fasteners are released for sale. Metric nuts, washers, socket heads, and a small portion of hex bolts are released for sale. ASMC News $50 minimum order requirement removed

Dear Customer: The $50 minimum direct order requirement for fasteners has been removed. Instead, ordering policy for fasteners is as follows (from Ordering FAQ page on the website): There is no minimum order for fasteners, however, any order line under $2.00 will be charged a $1.00 picking fee (If you order 10 screws that cost $0.02 each, you will be charged $1.20 for that line in the order). ASMC News Socket heads and set screws released

Dear Customer: Thank you for your patience. Socket heads (SHCS, Flat heads, button heads, shoulder screws, socket set screws) and square head set screws are now available for purchase. There are currently almost 2,000 items on the nut/bolt/washer inventory list, and almost 500 on the screws list, with much more to come soon. I will be working on Grade 2 and Metric next. Stay tuned. Fastener purchase sorted... Inventory begins

Over the weekend we finished going through all 32 pallets of the fasteners from the now defunct Wurth Service Supply. We ended up with a pallet of grade 9, one pallet of stainless two pallets of grade 8, three pallets of grade 5, two pallets of grade 2, two pallets of sockets, two pallets of metric, a pallet of nuts and washers, plus a pallet of miscellaneous. Average weight of the sorted pallets is 3,000lbs. The actual inventory begins this week. The goal is to have it all done this year. I'm still not sure if I will release everything for sale all at once or in stages. Stay tuned, and thank you.

New inventory aquired last week

We brought in 23 tons (yes, 46,000 lbs) of new hardware inventory on Halloween weekend. Right now it is about 3/4 sorted, and what a job it has been. It came in on 32 pallets, and each pallet had a bunch of boxes of different stuff. Still in the process of putting like items together so they can be weighed and inventoried. Some items included in this lot are: Grade 9, Grade 8, Grade 5, Grade 2, socket heads and set screws of all kinds, Metric (8.8, 10.9, and sockets), plus some stainless in both inch and metric, lag screws, brass pipe fittings, and some exotic alloy hardware (brass, copper, aluminum, silicon bronze, etc.). Lots of good stuff and a complete range of diameters and lengths in just about all of it. I'll send out another message as each line gets inventoried and added to the website. If you know of someone who might be interested in these items, by all means encourage them to join this list. Thanks, Alex
